V. Lucas, Victor Hugo, Hans Christian Andersen, Charles Lamb, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Edith Nesbit, Evelyn Sharp, and more, with tales including 'The Monkey's Revenge', 'Beauty and the Beast', 'La Fleur et le Papillon', 'The White Persian', 'Santa Claus' Little Ways', and more, with a total of twenty-nine tales. Illustrations contributed by Arthur Rackham, W. H. Robinson, Winifred Green, and more. Edited by Edward Hutton, a notable author who is better remembered today for his travel works, many of which focuses on Italy. Undated, dated from Jisc, from a copy held at the British Library. CONDITION In the original publisher's decorative cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with light marks and discolouration, as is usual with white cloth. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Light rubbing to the boards, with a small amount of loss to the rear board. Small chip to the rear joint. Front hinge is strained. Internally, binding is a little strained in places. Lacking the front endpaper. Pages are bright and clean, with a few occasional spots and handling marks.
