Hinges cracked and showing separation; all holding together but requires care to keep front cover from separating (along with the spine). Some staining, particularly the tissue guarding the frontispiece portrait; ink library stamp on title page and crossed out bookplate on inside cover. Signatures in ink of previous owners. Date due info and other library paperwork pasted on inside rear cover; some call numbers on spine. Covers show some wear but are in mostly good shape. Part of the "American Men of Energy" series of biographies published by Putnam's in the early 20th century Note: I try to identify any flaws in books as much as possible.
