Description: Item for sale is a postcard from Switzerland, posted in 1908. Postcard depicts 60 people dressed in traditional folk costumes, standing in line for a child's baptism. Caption reads, "Gruss vom Schwarzwald Badische Volkstrachten." Card is printed using chromolithography and has rich deep colors. Card is embossed along the design. Stamped on front with a 10 franc red stamp that appears to have Helvetia on it. Postmarked July 5, 1908. Back has a note and address and a second postmark. A bit of trivia, the sender, Justin Rancy, was a member of the Cirque Rancy family, a popular French circus at the time.
