This set-aside and unhandled specimen shows interesting planchet striations on both sides from its bronze sheet - as you flip it, you see their diagonal directions are the same, indicating they came from the copper sheet and not later, and the planchet got fed in diagonally, as statistically it probably would be in minting. When you read up on the introduction of the Lincoln cent, so much a normal part of life to so many of us, you learn there was quite a bit of national drama that went with such a change as a new coin.
