Description: 1912 Boys and Girls Bookshelf 18 Vintage Hardcover Book Illustrated This is a set of children's variety reader books that are full of cute images and clever sayings, stories and articles. A fascinating look into an aspect of education in the beginning of the 20th century. This set has evidence of use by young folks who left behind names, scribbles, torn pages. The lower volumes seem to be written for very young children and the higher volumes are intended for children more advanced in age and academic ability. The last volume is an index and teacher's guide. Some of the books are in good condition, some of the books are in acceptable condition and some of the books are in below acceptable condition. Please look at the comments by the books for this status. There is writing in many of the books, there is foxing on and in all the books and there is a property of stamp inside all the books. The books have that old book smell. There are pages missing and/or out of order in many of the books. In many of the books, the pages are starting to come away from the spine. There are marks on pages of the books. All the books have creases, scratches and marks on their fronts, backs, and spine. The page edges of the books have marks and the pages of the books have tanned due to age. Take a look at the photos for a good idea of the condition. It is not possible to photograph every defect, so consider what is shown to be examples of the condition. Most of the collection is readable despite the condition issues.
