The store was located, according to my 1927 Birmingham City Directory (see my 4th scan) at 710 27th Street Ensley. The Rays lived in Fairfield at 915 41st Street. Though photo is NOT directly identified it was in a mostly mid 1920s-1930 scrapbook belonging to Neal & Anna's son, Noel "Kid" Ray, an amateur & semi-professional boxer & wrestler who grew up with his family in the Birmingham area and who then opened a radio store in Gadsden Alabama. (See census info from an official document in scan # 5). The man in this photo looks exactly like Noel did 10 years after this photo was taken. I'm certain it's his parents. Original photo measures 5x7 inches. Buyer will receive, along with photo a xerox copy of my 1927 City Directory page and the census report. FAIR TO GOOD ONLY; edge tears & chips; photo is moderately soiled and foxed; looks like it was pinned and/or taped onto a wall for years . . . . . .
