Description: Circa 1920's or so huge two faced comical brownie head aluminum still bank. Each side of the head is wearing a brimmed hat. The bank does not sit entirely flat on the table. Interestingly, the bank was designed to rock back & forth slightly when you push him lightly back & forth. A beautifully made still bank which was formed from two well detailed & very smooth castings. The castings screw together at the knobs projecting from the sides of the head. The castings fit together tightly & superbly. The slot in the top of the head is uniformly & precisely cast in with 1/2 of the coin slot being cast in to each side of the head. There is only slight wear to the paint. The multi-colored paint is all original & is in excellent condition. There are no cracks, no chips, & no repairs. This amazingly large head measures 6 inches from side to side, 5 5/8 inches from front to back, & 4 1/2 inches from top to bottom. This aluminum bank weighs in at an impressive 2 pounds & 11 ounces. A marvelous comical smiling brownie two faced character bank. A great rarity in still banks! In over 55 years of being interested in old banks we have never seen or heard of another example of this bank. When, if ever, will you ever see another one? In any event, this amazingly rare, superbly made, & impressively large still bank is ready to move in to your very own collection.
