1920s Voigtlander Camera, Large Format Plate Camera

Description: Antique 1920s Voigtlander Avus Large Format Plate Camera Wonderful find the early 1900s plate camera made by Voigtlander of Germany. Voigtlander produced the Avus camera from 1913 till 1934. This camera produces a 9x12cm / 3x5 inch photo. The camera features a 13.5cm f4.5 Skopar lens, and a Compur dial-set shutter, this combination of the lens and shutter would have been the most expensive options available at that time. The lens is focused with a rack and pinion knob at the right side along with a focus scale on the bed (pull knob outward to engage). The lens can be adjusted horizontally by turning the knob on the left side. The knob on the right side at the top adjusts the lens vertically. There is a bubble level above the lens for accurately positioning the subject. Overall condition is fabulous for age, bellows is solid and strong, at some point the bellows retainer straps were removed and the bellows professionally patched, camera seems complete. Exterior has scuffs and is worn for use and storage.
