Description: This original vintage photograph negative is 3.5x6", so large format. The photo was taken at the now 100 year old Biltmore Hotel in Miami Florida in the 1920s, maybe early 1930s (I have more photos of the hotel if interested). The car on right is likely a 1927 or 1928 Willys Whippet with a rare spare tire cover. The spare tire cover says Broadway - Overland Co. Toledo (Ohio). You can read some info about it below. The car is small part of the overall negative, but because it the negative is large and high quality, the car would still print well on its own. Looks like the gentleman is set for golfing maybe with his argyle socks and lace up shoes. Online info - the Overland Willys Toledo dealership had a 1930 appeals court case (Thorpe vs Broadway Overland Co.) where a trolly operator sued the company when a motorist on company business struck the operator while making an illegal pass as the operator was manually changing the trolly signal. Apparently the company changed ownership right about the same time the appeals court reversed the not guilty judgment, and the person who established Broadway Overland opened a Buick dealership down the street.
