Description: 1925-D $2 1/2 gold Quarter Eagle, authenticated / graded / encapsulated by NGC as Select Uncirculated, MS-61. This is one of just a few years of Indian Head Quarter Eagles minted in Denver. This specimen was held from circulation, ending up being the "UNC" grade levels most often found, as incuse coins get lots of marks in the unprotected fields. It also features the striking problems from that mint and those years - small, but strong, "D" mintmark and signs of die buckling with the circular liners just inward from the rims. The reverse is rotated more than 5 degrees clockwise - and it's a bit late in 1925 for that kind of error! Shipped with signature tracking for your assurance.
