Description: 1925 POSTER ADAMS EMPIRE ORCHESTRA Framingham, MASSACHUSETS RARE Offered here is a window card poster for a dance at Casino Farmingham featuring ADAM’S EMPIRE ORCHESTRA (Identified in the photograph as “Adams Empire Singing Orchestra, Framingham, Mass.” It is dated for Tuesday Evening, March 17, making it probably from 1925. The door prize was to be a Crosley Radio Set. By 1924, Crosley Radio Corporation had become the largest radio manufacturer in the world. The Casino: Michael Simpson's mansion called The Chestnut Cottage or simply The Cottage was located at 50 Elm Street right across from what is now the Stapleton School. When Michael's son Frank died, the house was sold. At some point, (part of) it was a dance hall called The Casino. The house was razed in 1935. The poster measures 14” x 21” on card stock that is chipped on the corners as shown. It is shrink-wrapped on stiff cardboard and I’ve made no attempt to open it up. Items are sold as-is.
