Offered is an original vintage photo of US Navy Commander John Rodgers’ PN-9 #1 seaplane in his attempted flight non-stop from San Francisco, California to Hawaii. He was not the first person to try the flight, but he reached the farthest point on record at the time before having to stop due to engine problems. This was 2 years before aviator Charles Lindbergh made his flight across the Atlantic to Paris. No hand writing on back, but a photo negative batch number stamped in black at corner.
