With scarce original dustwrapper in a complete and fine condition. Direct from the library of the late Hugh Selbourne MD (1906-1973) a noted book collector and diarist. Signed by the author to the verso of the limited edition page. The Nonesuch Press specialised in limited edition and private press. They were unusual among private presses as they used a small Albion press to design the books, but had them printed by commercial printers. In doing so, books with the quality of a fine-press were produced, but available to a wider audience at lower prices. This is the first edition of this work by George Moore. Moore was an Irish novelist, short-story writer, poet, memoirist and dramatist. CONDITION In original fawn coloured cloth with the original printed wrap. Externally, excellent with minor bumping to the extremities and to the head and tail of spine. The wrap is also in excellent condition with some handling marks and the occasional spot. Internally, the text is firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned to the edges but very clean throughout. Overall Condition: Near Fine Fine GLOSSARY OF TERMS Overall Condition (Dustwrapper condition rating is shown after that for the book itself, where a dustwrapper is present) Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear Very Good Indeed - Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy Very Good - Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy Good - Meaning not very good.
