Description: A 5 x 7.5 inch twenty two page Playbill booklet for REVELRY a play by Maurine Watkins based on the novel by Samuel Hopkins Adams for the week beginning October 1, 1927, the year this theatre opened. There were 48 performances of this play about the corruption of the Harding Administration. REVELRY , the play was never published. The theatre masque was built and run by the CHANIN Organization real estate speculators who built four theatres and a hotel in the 1920s only to lose control of their empire during the Depression. One of the smallest Broadway theatres, with 800 seats it still exists as the Bernard Jacobs Theatre, on 45th street west of Broadway.
