1929 Vega Vegaphone Professional Tenor Banjo w/ Original Case & Finger Picks

Description: Travel back in time with this 1929 Vega Vegaphone professional tenor banjo. The serial number 89,157 is stamped on the dowel stick. The Vega Company, U.S.A., is stamped on the dowel stick as well. The Vega Co., Boston, Mass., USA, is stamped on the inside of the resonator. Vegaphone Professional is stamped on the tailpiece. High-quality Grover planetary tuners. Grover bridge. Grover Patent Presto is stamped on the edge of the tailpiece. Bound neck. Mother-of-pearl inlay on the fretboard: dots, a star, and a floral design. The metal tone ring is attached to the pot. 19 fret neck. 11" pot with recent head. 23" scale length. 1-1/8" nut. Cosmetically, it looks quite good. There are some scrapes on the back of the resonator, but overall the banjo looks very good. Functionally, it works great. The fretboard and tuners are in good, working condition. 12th fret action is good, currently set between 3/32" and 4/32". It comes with three metal Stevens fingerpicks, vintage sheet music, and two plastic picks. It comes in the original hard case. The case handle, latches, and hinges all work.
