Description: What a fun piece of a vintage comic character collectible toy. This brightly colored writing pad features many of the great characters from the "funnies" such as Little Orphan Annie, Kayo, Smitty, Herbie, Perry Winkle, Little Folks, and Harold Teen. Some pages have characters I’ve never heard of such as Baxter, Josie, and Horace. Copyright 1932 Whitman Pub. Co. Racine. Almost 100 years old! The book originally featured 32 sheets of writing paper. Lines on one side and then folded for “envelope” on other side. Some were torn out and it now contains 12. (See photo) It has heavy duty paper that shows yellow aging. The back of the pad also has the colorful graphics as the front. The back has some blurring of characters, a manufacturing issue. (See last full cover photo) These classic cartoon comic figures are quite collectible, especially such items like this with such colorful graphics. Photos show where pages were torn from top. There is a crease in the upper right corner. A pencil mark on the inside cover. Questions welcome!
