Bound in soft green leather with color illustrations of ship and national signals and flags and a folding world map in pocket at rear. July 1 - July 19, 1933. Aboard the SS Sixaola. With stops in Kingston, Cristobal in the Canal Zone, Cartagena, Puerto Columbia, Baranquilla and Santa Marta. Mrs Robertson mixes her date entries from July to June but they are sequential from July 1933. Ocean conditions, weather, on ship activities, dinners, games of chance and evenings in the "smoker." Detailed observations on ports of call, tourist and shopping ventures, local cuisine, the "natives," etc. June 30 - July 11, 1934. Aboard the SS Amapala with ports of call at Santiago, Cuba; Kingston, Jamaica; La Ceiba, Honduras. Similar narrative descriptions of activities, conditions and places visited. Appears to have been quite the bacchanal at the Bacardi factory in Santiago. A few pages at rear record names and addresses of traveling companions and of specific shopping areas visited with their specialties. 20 pages of diary manuscript for the first voyage and 15 pages for the second with about 8 pages of preamble and post script. Both the Sixaola and Amapala were sunk by German U-Boats while serving as transportation vessels for the military during WWII.
