Mrs. Ethel Coval, former Follies girl, released by gendarmes from wayside farmhouse after three months during which she was held prisoner, she says, by Rene Petitjean, for years French commercial agent in New York. Inquiry made as result of action taken by husband she deserted, Charles E. Coval, former New York magazine official, after he received letters she managed to send secretly, appealing for help and deliverance. Petitjean, who woman describes as bootlegger, denies she was held captive, and she has refused to bring any charges against him since her release. Her romantic idyll broken, she wants to return and be a good wife, though tired of cooking and scrubbing at La Pomponnette, her "dream place" on the Marne.Photo measures 9.5 x 7 inches.
