Inquiry made as result of action taken by husband she deserted, Charles E. Coval, former New York magazine official, after he received letters she managed to send secretly, appealing for help and deliverance. Petitjean, who woman describes as bootlegger, denies she was held captive, and she has refused to bring any charges against him since her release.
