Botanical Brewers Huntley Grove Peterborough 1935"it also reads below "This bottle is the property of Adcocks Peterborough, Anyone Illegally using for detaining will be prosecuted" This is a one gallon size salt glaze stoneware pottery jug. Great colors, creamy beige and darker brown. Nice loop handle.It stands 11 1/4" tall, 6 1/4" in diameter at the bottom. The advertising letters are a nice dark black color. The jug is heavy stoneware pottery.This company was from England, Leonard Adcock and his wife Sara brewed and sold ginger beer and Dandelion & Burdock in stoneware jugs. The word "Botanical signifies a brewer of Non-alcoholic drinks. Sara was the main brewer, Leonard handled the sales part of the company. They started their business in 1911 in Huntley Grove. This early dated 1935 salt glazed stoneware pottery jug is in great condition for it's age and use. No chips or cracks, normal wear.
