Description: 1935 ERIK OVERBEY RPPC ALUMINUM LINE S/S "VESTVANGEN" OSLO STEAM SHIP MOBILE BAYVery good condition for the age. Please see all photos and ask if in doubt.Erik Overbey (1881-1977) was a Norwegian native who came to Mobile, AL and became a very successful photographer in Mobile. He enjoyed taking photos of everyday life including the ships that came through Mobile Bay. The RPPC is signed Overbey/Mobile in the lower right hand corner.The ship is marked ALUMINUM LINE in the middle and VESTVANGEN on the right side (see photo 5.)In the bottom middle of the RPPC is marked S/S "VESTVANGEN", OSLO.It was sent to a former passenger of the line, Mary Elizabeth Fontaine of Clarksdale, Miss. She was visiting relatives in Shaw, Miss. so her mother forwarded it to her.The four gentlemen from the ship obviously miss her and hope she will come again next summer.
