Description: 1936 Sterling Silver Clan ORR (Scotland) Brooch Fully hallmarked for Scotland, Edinburgh and 1956 with maker's mark Thomas Kerr Ebbutt. Out of a heart, a dexter hand bearing a scimitar. The Heart is the Heart of Robert the Bruce. The Scimitar depicts being part of a Holy Crusade. In 1330 the Black Douglas led a Holy Crusade to take the heart of Robert the Bruce to a Holy Lands to fulfil his dying wish. They got as far as Spain, and joined in the Battle of the Stars to defeat the invading Moors. Unfortunately the Scottish battle tactics, that were so successful against the English, didnt strike the same fear against the Moors. The Scots fought to the end.
