Description: Offered is the book, "The Silhouette", the 1938 yearbook for Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. This liberal arts women's school was founded in 1889. The book measures approx. 12 3/8" x 9 1/4" and contains 196 pages, including the usual ads in the back. The book is filled with all of the usual college yearbook things; the students, of course, with photos of all four classes, with the seniors being larger, activities, sports, sororities, etc. There is a special section featuring the eight chosen "Vogues" women, with a full-page photo and an additional smaller photo each. The advertising section at the end has ads for a variety of Atlanta-area shops and businesses, including one for Coca-Cola (see last photo). The yearbook is in very good to excellent condition. The black and white embossed padded hard cover has very little wear and only minor scuffing. There is a no cracking inside either the front or back covers. The purple and white picture endpapers are clean. I see no missing or torn pages and they are generally clean and clear, with only a couple showing spotting or marks. I see no writing in the book. I have a lot of experience with vintage and antique books but am not an expert so please let me know if my description is missing information and you have additional questions.
