Description: Acquired this wooden sign in Orangevale, several miles from the California State Capitol. The estate had lots of political stuff from the 1930's era of state politics. Just missed several legislative page badges and a several political banners. This wooden piece is somewhat weathered and it is a true vintage item and measures: 36 by 5-3/4 by 1/4 inches . Has original nail holes for mounting on building wall.Ellis E. Patteron was born November 28, 1897 and also served one term as a Democratic Congressman 1945-1947. Born in Yuba City, Ca. Also served in the California State Assembly. 33rd Lieutenant Governor 1939-1943. Graduated from University of California, Berkeley in 1921. He was a US Navy Seaman in 1917-1918 during World War I. He taught school in Colusa County, Ca 1922-1924. From 1924-1932, Patterson was district superintendent of schools for South Monterey County.
