Description: This is a 1940-50s era used, unmarked 14" Vintage doll. I do not know the brand. The doll has flaws. Please see the description below and the pictures for details of the flaws and the characteristics of this doll. She is a jointed limb walker. The walker mechanism works, but not very well. The hip joints are pinned. She is also jointed at the knees. The knees click well into place to a standing position; legs below the knees are floppy when knees are unclicked. Her arms do hold a pose, but are somewhat loose, though not floppy. Her legs do not hold a pose when moved from a standing position, but she is stable when in a standing position. She can be posed into a sitting position. She has a hard plastic body and a soft vinyl (somewhat pliable) head, each clearly made of a different material from the other. Her head is a darker color/hue than her body, and is somewhat sticky to the touch. I do not know if this color difference is original to her. Her hair is dark red/auburn and is rooted into her head, i.e. it is not a wig. Her hair style is original, but messy and somewhat flattened, especially in the back, probably due to her being stored on her back. She may have originally had bangs, but they are now pulled back and flattened on the top of her head. The material her hair is made of (nylon?) and the condition of the rooting is in good shape. She has molded top eye lashes, painted lower lashes & eyebrows, red (fairly distinct) closed mouth and rosy cheeks, which are somewhat faded and the color slightly non-symmetrical. Her eyes are green color and they open and close well & easily. Her toes are molded and her fingers are separate (not molded). I would say that her overall condition is fairly good for her age, but, especially looking closely, does show signs of age, use and probably having been 'played with'. There are marks, dings, abrasion/scuff marks on her body, mostly her legs and particularly her knees. There are slight cracks on the inside & outside of her legs at & above the knee area. One crack, on the outside leg at the knee, is actually a slight separation at the seam where her body was molded. One crack is in front of her right knee. Please see pics. Included is her 'sailor outfit': White dress with red trim and purple-ish color coat with red and white trim. It is possible that the purple coat is faded, assuming the original color was navy blue, but this is just a guess. On the other hand, the purple color is consistent throughout and not blotchy. The skirt on the white dress may be a little yellowed - not sure. The clothing material seems to be of pretty high quality and the outfit is in good condition, other than the mentioned possibilities. Please see all photos. Thank You! I ship by USPS Priority mail to the USA only.
