Recorded in Mexico City shortly after the renaming of the Orquesta Tipica de la Ciudad de México Conductor is most likely Miguel Lerdo de Tejada or Pablo Marín Olimpica Vals/ Tristes Jardines RCA 23-0873 Please see the top of listing for condition The Orquesta Tipica de la Ciudad de México ( acronym : OTCM) received this nickname since 1940, being preceded since its foundation by the names of: "Orquesta Típica Mexicana" (1884-1887); "Lerdo Typical Orchestra" (1901-1920); "Typical Presidential Orchestra" (1920-1924); Lerdo de Tejada Typical Orchestra (1928) and "Typical Police Orchestra" (1929-1940), named like this by decree of the President Lic. Emilio Portes Gil .The Typical Orchestra of Mexico City , or La Tipica , as it is commonly known, is the oldest orchestral ensemble in Latin America. It was founded in 1884 by Carlos Curti . 1 and recognized in 2011 as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Mexico City . It belongs to the Secretariat of Culture of Mexico City .Currently the orchestra is made up of 91 people, including instrumental musicians, singing musicians and instrumental staff. All of them over time have interpreted more than 1,300 musical works that refer to expressions of Mexican music of any era and popular classical music. 2Since its foundation, it has preserved the main characteristics that have given it its peculiarity. As a typical orchestra, it mainly interprets traditional Mexican works both from the public domain and by renowned Mexican composers and works from the international classical and popular repertoire. 1Its particular sound and uniqueness is due to the fact that it is the only orchestra in the world made up of the instruments of an orchestra (strings, woods, brass, harp and percussions) and the inclusion of typical Mexican instruments such as the psaltery, the bandolon, the guitar, the sixth bass and the marimba from Chiapas, a section known as "The typical ones", because these instruments have remained as original instrumental conformation since 1884. It has a repertoire of more than 900 works that were mostly arranged or composed specifically for it. Currently said collection is protected in the Historical Archive of Mexico City. If for any reason your transaction was NOT SATISFACTORY, pls contact me and I will work something out with you. YOU WILL NEVER HAVE A REASON TO GIVE ME A NEGATIVE RATING or a LOW STAR RATING. Quick note on grading: The Grade (Excellent to Poor, I don't give Mint) refers to the WEAR of the record. Any other defects are stated separately When I listen to a record, I may also give it an aural grade (again E to P), and make a SUBJECTIVE judgment of the pressing quality for hiss and surface noise."EXCEPTIONALLY QUIET" is close to noiseless, like a vinyl pressing."VERY QUIET" is an above average quiet record for a given pressing."Quiet" is a record that is a great example with some noise. These judgments are SUBJECTIVE and will depend one the styli, phonograph etc. you use on your own equipment. Multiple item shipping: I am happy to combine items for shipment in one parcel. Records will be packed safely between corrugated cardboard in a sturdy box with plenty of padding for safe shipment. Shipment is usually Media Mail, unless you request another service.
