Description: Original Vintage Silver Castle Hamburger Restaurant Ware China 12” Dinner Plate. Made by Iro-Tan Ware Iroquois. Date code on the bottom of the plate is Z-4 which dates the plate to 1940. Front top of the plate shows the outside of a Silver Castle Systems building in the Art Deco style under the glaze (NOT a decal). Silver Castle Systems was a Tulsa Oklahoma and Texas based hamburger restaurant diner chain established in 1936. Hamburgers were much like White Castle, Royal Castle, White Tower, Krystal’s, Rockybilt, and other 5 cent hamburger diner chains. Heavy restaurant china ware plate. The oval shaped plate measures almost 12” and the building logo is about 1 1/2” long as shown at the top of the plate. No chips., No cracks, No Hairlines. Very good used condition.
