Pawley likely acquired this book while is was operating the Hindustan Aircraft factory to support the Flying Tigers, a group of American volunteer airmen known as the American Volunteer Group (AVG) to fly supplies to the Chinese Air Force in World War II. V.A. Sundaram was an activist in the Indian independence movement, an associate of Mahatma Gandhi and a fundraiser for Benares Hindu University. This item came from the estate of Mr. Pawley's personal secretary in Coral Gables, FL. Very good in soiled dust jacket.
