Description: The following is the FIRST EVER Major League Contract of any Puerto Rican ballplayer. Yes, this is the one and only SIGNED contract for the rookie season of Hiram Bithorn who made his debut for the Cubs in 1942. Besides being a tough autograph, having been murdered in Mexico in 1951, this contract represents the start of Puerto Ricans in the Major Leagues. This historic significance of this item cannot be understated and is probably only surpassed by Jackie Robinson's 1947 Dodgers contract (where ever that is) in terms of historical importance. I recently purchased a large grouping of these contracts through Robert Edwards Auction House. This is in incredible condition, not having seen daylight for almost 80 years.... since it were signed. Also contains the signatures of Ford Frick (HOF) and James Gallagher Cubs GM. This is a museum quality piece and I bet someday will reside in the Hall of Fame. I am have been an avid baseball autograph collector since 1985 and have amassed many duplicates over the years, I have decided to part with some of them to clear our space for new acquisitions. This item is guaranteed this item to pass PSA or Spence Authentication or purchase price minus shipping will be given. I do not accept refunds for other issues so please ask any questions you have prior to bidding. Shipping will be as noted. Thank you for looking.
