Description: Description: Up for sale/auction is a 1948-49 Sports Champion Exhibits card of John Cobb, a famous land-speed car racer. The 1948-49 Sports Champion Exhibit set is comprised of 46 cards, with this card the only one with a car racer. The cards issued in 1948 had either a black/white or green tint and those issued in 1949 had a blue tint. The card shown is the card for sale which has a green tint and was issued in 1948. (A black/white tint card of John Cobb was also issued in 1948 but a blue tint of that card was not issued in 1949.) Condition: This vintage card has been graded by the tough graders at SGC as an SGC55, VG-EX+. Referring to the scans, the card has some minor corner wear but it does not have any creases, wrinkles, paper tears, pin holes, print marks, writing or edge borders on the front or back. It nominally measures 3-3/8 x 5-3/8 and is nicely centered. Note: PSA does not grade the exhibit cards from this set for some unknown reason so graded cards are only available with SGC grading.
