1948 Bowman Gum Movie Star 36 Card COMPLETE Set READ DESCRIPTION

Description: Up for sale is perhaps the oddest non sports card set I've ever encountered. It is the complete set of 1948 Bowman Movie & TV Stars cards. This set features plenty of then up and coming Stars whose careers were largely abandoned not long after it was released. There's also many who became major Stars and others who already had established careers. Included are Monte Hale, Sterling Hayden (Jack D Ripper!), William Demarest ( in every Preston Sturges movie that I can remember), Cesar Romero(sporting that joker smile without makeup), Yvonne De Carlo (Lily Munster!), Donald O'Connor, Dan Duryea, Shelley Winters, Every Arden, Jane Greer, Robert Preston, Lloyd Nolan among many others. 36 in all. The cards are mostly mid to high grade. Nearly all in fact. A few look a little rough from corner/edge wear, a couple may have.minor creases, someone drew a very stylish looking necklace on Eve Arden with a pencil. Most common flaw is some cards have brown backs. I don't know if packs caused that or some staining from something. I don't know what. When it comes to vintage nonsports sets, it doesn't get more rare and unusual than this one. Truly unique.
