The Scooter played his entire career with the New York Yankees, but lost three years to the Second World War. In 1950, Rizzuto was named the AL Most Valuable Player after he collected 200 hits, batted .324 with a .429 slugging percentage and had a .982 fielding percentage. Despite his diminutive size, Rizzuto was the everyday shortstop for 13 seasons, helping the Yankees to nine AL pennants and seven World Series championships. Phil Rizzuto retired with 1,588 hits, 878 runs, 562 RBI, 149 stolen bases while batting a career .273. Phil enjoyed a 40-year career in the Yankee broadcasting booth after he retired in 1956. The Veterans Committee elected Philip Rizzuto to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1994.
