Description: GLENMORE "KENTUCKY'S FINEST WHISKIES" ADVERTISING ASHTRAY - 1950s Glenmore Distilleries Co. 4.75" x 6" x 4". Painted chalkware or plaster type material. This attractive figural ashtray features Glenmore's Kentucky Colonel mascot leaning over the back edge with shot glass in hand. It reads "Glenmore" on the front and "KENTUCKY'S FINEST WHISKIES" on the inside of the bowl. The back reads "GLENMORE DISTILLERIES COMPANY INCORPORATED - LOUISVILLE, KY". Ashtray paint has a nice antique "rubbed" patina. A great advertising piece with excellent display potential. Condition is considered GOOD to FAIR with moderate surface/stain/edge wear. Scattered paint scuffing with very minor edge chipping. Moderate rub wear partially obscuring copy on back (this appears to be a factory defect). No cracks or re-gluing. Overall, this ashtray has an outstanding appearance and great eye appeal. We feel it is a very displayable example by most standards (see photos). An uncommon original GLENMORE WHISKEY item that would make a great figural display for the discriminating VINTAGE DISTILLERY and/or ADVERTISING MEMORABILIA enthusiast.
