Description: 1951 NEW YORK GIANTS – Season Highlights – The 1951 New York Giants were a strong team, losing only two games all season, however both were to the Browns (a game-tying PAT was missed in the 14-13 game at Cleveland), and this doomed them to a second place finish in the American Conference. Despite the two losses, there were several individual stellar performances. Defensive linemen Al DeRogatis and Arnie Weinmeister, as well as linebacker Jon Baker all won All-Pro honors, as did offensive tackle Tex Coulter. The star of the club for 1951 however was fullback Eddie Price, who set a new NFL season rushing record with 971 yards, and his 271 carries was also a new league mark! This rare 35-minute B & W film, presented by Miller Brewing Company, is now on DVD with the original narration by New York Broadcaster Marty Glickman. Shown are highlights from eight of the 12 games played (see schedule below). You’ll see closeups of many of the Giants at the beginning, and in this film, here’s who you’ll see: QB’s Charley Conerly and Travis Tidwell, rookie Kyle Rote, John Cannady, Em Tunnell, Ray Poole, Ray Krouse, Johnny Rapacz, Bob McChesney, Forrest Griffith, Joe Scott, Bob Jackson, Bob Hudson, Bill Stribling, Kelley Mote, Dick Woodward, Tom Landry, Harmon Rowe, Otto Schnellbacher, John Amberg, Tex Coulter, Herb Hannah, Earl Murray, Bill Albright, Jon Baker, Duke Maronic, Joe Sulaitis, Jim Duncan, Al DeRogatis and Arnie Weinmeister.
