Description: This week I'm offering a number of old non-sport cards from various vintage sets. In 1953, Topps issued the third and final set they created featuring something every kid was familiar with - license plates! This had been the subject of two earlier Topps sets, as well as a series of sets issued by Goudey Gun in the Thirties. Back in the days when most people didn't have TV's, much less the electronic media we have today, the license plates of different states had an aura of the exotic that no kid could resist. In order to make the set more educational, Topps included state trivia on the back of the cards. Here I have card #39, "Utah." Tape stain at the top, otherwise very nice. See scans for condition.
