This 223 page hard back book comes from the same publishing folks who made the Dykes Auto Encyclopedia, and Excellent + form, pages Near MINT. This book covers Ford Auto Repair from 1954 to 1964. This neat manual has very thorough information on the repair of Fords by none other than a long time contributing writer for MOTORS MANUALS, BILL TOBOLDT. Mr. Tolboldt was the leading expert on Fords for Hearst’s Motor Manual Department. Mr. Toboldt wrote numerous books and manuals over a span of 40 years. He was editor and contributor to countless magazines over his career and was known worldwide as a genius in the Automotive world. So he knew what he was talking about! It’s 13 plus chapters include all the normal aspects of Ford Auto Repair, and can be used in conjunction with any Motors or Chiltons manual because of these interesting chapters: Tune Up Tips, Ignition Tune Up, Carb and Fuels, Short Cuts, Simplified Engine repairs, Adjusting Valves, Cooling System Kinks, Exhaust Systems, Test on Batteries, Simplifies Generator Service, Kinks on Starting Testing, Lighting System Service, Accessories and Instrument Service, Overhauling the Ford Clutch, Tranny Service, Propellor Shaft and U-Joints, Rear Axle Service Kinks, Quick Service on Shocks and Springs, and Shortcuts on Wheel Alignment A lot of chapters deal with shop “kinks” or hints and/or short cuts on doing a particular job. VERY HELPFUL! What I like about the book are these great sub chapters like……….How to Make an Oil Leak Check, Short Cut Method for Carbon and Valves, Carb tips for more speed, Shop kinks on Clutch noise, How to Correct Toe-In, Raising Compression, Orders of Probability, and MORE!
