Description: My name is Kate: I am helping my dad sell his huge, 50+ year personal collection of original and NOS, C1, C2, and C3 Corvette parts. He has a 25 year Ebay history of 100% positive feedback for buying and selling and we intend to maintain that rating. We are trying our best to accurately describe the item. If our description leaves you with questions, please ask for further information/clarification before bidding/buying. The item shown in the photos is the item you will receive. If for any reason you are not satisfied, please contact us immediately so we can resolve the issue. Item Description: We are offering an original 2x4 WCFB carburetor unit in rebuildable condition, as complete as shown in the photos. These are OEM WCFB carbs and intake are correct for the 1958 to 1961 270hp Corvette 283 ci engines. Obviously this requires restoration but they are probably as complete as there are out there for original cores that have not been messed with. We are selling this unit as a core and will not separate. The intake casting is 3739659, the main body of the carbs have the correct casting number 0-1049, and the air horns have the correct casting number 6-1299. The rear carb still has the original tag which reads 2614S and M8 (December 1958) which tells us that this unit, although correct for the other years noted, came out of the factory on a 1959 production year Corvette. It also tells us that it is the 270 hp 2x4 and not a 245hp 2x4. The tag on the front carb (2613S) is missing. The unit is as complete as shown in the 24 photos so study those. If you require additional information, please contact us. We do not rebuild carburetors so we are not carburetor experts. For that reason, we are not going to touch them. The butterflies do open and close freely. So study the photos to see how complete it is, the condition, and to assure this is what you want. And yes the carbs have the correct low profile steel bases as opposed to the single 4 barrel carburetors that have taller bases. The incorrect single 4 barrel bases are often used to build 2x4 clones. There are no clones here. This is the real deal that was a "barn find" (actually a garage find) removed from a Corvette and put in a box maybe 50 years ago? The intake to cylinder head gasket face and thermostat area are not badly corroded as is common and, once cleaned, will certainly seal. There are no cracks, repairs, or modifications. It's the carbs that are very very hard to find and here is your chance for both plus the intake. The linkage shown was in the box but we do not know if it is correct. Shipping: We will securely double box this ourselves with no charge for the packaging materials or our time (no handling charges). We prefer to use UPS but if you require another method, we can most likely accommodate you. If our listing shows "free shipping" or a "fixed shipping charge", that is for shipping to the continental USA states. If that does not apply to you, then please contact us for the shipping charge. In all cases, you will never be charged more than the actual carrier shipping/insurance cost. And we will ship as timely as reasonable, knowing that we are not a 8 to 5 walk in business and we are not always home. In this case a signature will be required by UPS at destination point because of the amount of insurance. Item can be picked up in Springfield, NE which is near Omaha.
