Description: 1959 Topps #215 Jim Lemon Washington Senators High-end NM B59#215A1 This is a high-end 1959 Jim Lemon card with nice corners, straight edges and nicely centered Nicely centered Nice corners Vivid red Nice card Lemon played 12 years in the majors after signing with Cleveland in ‘48. He played in the minors and spent 2 years in the Military before Lemon reached the majors in ‘53. The senators, however, purchased his contract before Cleveland had a chance to evaluate Lemon in the big time. Still, it would take a couple of more seasons in the minors before Lemon flowered into the hitter he became. From ‘56 to ‘60, Lemon hit home runs and drove in runs with the league leaders. He also had a penchant for striking out, however, leading the league three years in a row in strike outs. Nevertheless, he was presence at the plate. He finished with a .262 lifetime average before leaving the game.
