Description: Here is a very collectible 1960's era Orbit Electronics “reed” type 10 channel radio control system complete with all original parts and a great history. Included is the Orbit Multaneous vacuum tube circuit Transmitter with the original chrome antenna, the matching transistorized receiver, 5 Bonner servos. 3 of the servos are neutralizing for returning to center after an activation of elevator, aileron, and rudder input. 2 are Trim servos for use as throttle and pitch trim control. This system is on the frequency of 27.045. There's a battery charger, owners manuals, a 1968 service receipt from Orbit East, and service notes are also included. This vintage R/C model airplane control system is pictured to show the components included, their condition, and the vacuum tubes within the transmitter. It will be sold as a complete system. I will not separate parts or components for individual sale. (See my other listings for more Bonner servos and more rare vintage R/C items) Overall this is a great system for displaying in, or with a 1960s vintage radio control model airplane kit, or built! (See my other listings for NIB vintage Free Flight and R/C airplane kits.)Owner history: Originally flown by R/C contest flyer/model designer & builder Ed Keck from the Chicagoland area. Ed replaced it with a proportional system and gave this reed system to his neighbor, who was in my electronics class, and he gave it to me. I replaced the Nicad receiver batteries, traced and repaired the wiring harness, and bench tested the system to working condition in April of 1973. My hand written circuit drawings, voltage test notes, and service diagnosis checklists are included along with complete copies of Orbit's owners/service manuals. After spending 3 months carefully building my first R/C airplane in 1973, I was advised to buy a PCS / Kraft proportional R/C system to more "easily" guide it. (see last pic). This Orbit reed system has been on display in my R/C airplane collection for over 50 years. You may be inclined to accept the challenge of using this Orbit guidance system to fly a 1960's style of R/C airplane once again today. Although this Orbit system was working properly when first placed on display, all of the original batteries (included) are discharged from age and in non working condition today. You may be able to power it up by installing fresh batteries in accordance with my technical notes, but I'm offering this system As Is with no guarantees, refunds, returns or exchanges. These early circuits of Orbit's “reed” systems are getting harder to find in a complete system like this one. The novel technology of the reed systems were actually being flown in contests back in the 1960's. Today it is a reminder that relatively simple electronic reed type of circuits actually worked to guide model airplanes through aerobatic maneuvers. And this is a wonderful example of one of those early R/C systems!I'll pack items carefully and ship promptly. You pay only the carriers rate for the shipping method that you select.Thank you for your interest in this vintage Orbit R/C system.
