Description: This is an original woodcut print by Cuban artist Ana Rosa Gutierrez Martinez from the set "Declaracion de La Habana, 40 Xilografias Cubanas. The print interprets and illustrates a section of the text of the famous speech delivered by Fidel Castro on September 2, 1960, the so called First Declaration of Havana, a manifesto of the principles and intentions of the General Assembly of the Cuban People and of the Castro's communist regime. The prints were issued by Consejo Nacional de Cultura and exhibited at Palacio de Bellas Artes in Havana in 1961. They are all very hard to find today. This print illustrates that the National General Assembly of the people of Cuba condemns the so-called Declaration of San Jose of Costa Rica.
