Stevens Incorporated. An early Stevens is believed to have invented the hot dog. The round plate was made by Shenango China in Newcastle, Pennsylvania and features to lions holding a shield with a letter: “S” in the center and underneath a scroll that reads: “HARRY M. STEVENS INC.”. The bottom shows a nice maker’s mark that reads: “SHENANGO CHINA NEWCASTLE, PA. U.S.A.
