Description: 1962 Topps Ernie Davis rookie card graded PSA 8 (OC). Very low PSA population of 33 with only 3 higher. 15 of the 33 have qualifiers. Ernie was a running back who led Syracuse to a National Championship in 1959 and went on to be the first African-American to win the Heisman Trophy in 1961. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns with the first pick in the 1962 NFL Draft. Sadly, Ernie was diagnosed with Leukemia and passed away before playing in an NFL game. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1979. Ernie was the subject of a 2008 film, The Express: The Ernie Davis Story.
