Reversible: sage green exterior, safety orange interior. Flight nylon satin twill exterior, nylon interior. Two lower pockets with snap flaps and felt lining. Two interior welt pockets with snap closure and cotton twill lining. Sleeve pen/pencil pocket with zipper closure. Knit rib cuffs, collar and waist band (I believe these elements are wool). Crown 2-sided zipper. Sleeve shirring. Label: "Jacket, Flying, Man's, Intermediate, MA-1 - MIL-J-8279D (USAF) - Size Medium - 8415-818-7352 - DSA-1-3607-64-C 23 December 1963 - ALPHA INDUSTRIES, Inc. - Interlining: 58% Wool, 42% Cotton - Dry Clean Only". Manufacturer: ALPHA INDUSTRIES, Inc. Year of manufacture: 1964. USA. Markings or personalization: none. There is a plastic name tag holder stitched onto the left chest and an Air Defense Command patch on the right chest. I recently acquired this jacket from the estate of the original owner. CONDITION: SAGE SIDE: There are a few scattered small holes in the knit cuffs, waist band and collar. 1 small edge tear to the knit collar. Some light use-related soiling to the back side of the right sleeve (I did not attempt to clean the jacket in any way). At some point 4 patches were carefully removed with no damage to the nylon: 1 rank insignia patch from each shoulder and 1 left sleeve patch, 1 right chest patch. See photos for all of this. None of this is terribly conspicuous. Otherwise this jacket is in very good original condition on the sage side with no other damage or significant wear. No restorations. No other discolorations or soiling. No other wear or damage to the knit elements. No holes in the nylon and no scuffs, scratches, tears. No opened seams. No wear to elbows. I have not had this jacket cleaned. It is generally clean as found. I do not detect cigarette or other unpleasant odors. The zippers are functional with no issues. Snaps are functional with no issues. The pocket linings are clean with no issues. ORANGE SIDE: There are a few scattered small holes in the knit cuffs, waist band and collar. Some scattered greenish toning to the orange nylon. See photos. Otherwise this jacket is in very good original condition on the orange side with no other damage or significant wear. No restorations. I see no evidence the jacket was ever worn with orange side out. No other discolorations or soiling. No other wear or damage to the knit elements. No holes in the nylon and no scuffs, scratches, tears. No opened seams. No wear to elbows. The zippers are functional with no issues. Snaps are functional with no issues. The pocket linings are clean with no issues.
