Description: Unused, casually stored for 50 years or so so not new. Gummed photographic "plates" remain in their original form--loose and laid in. See picture--some of these have the sheets so tightly laid in they remain in place when opened. Some dust staining has infiltrated the edges to the margins over the years. This program started out with Doubleday's "Best in Books" in the late 1950's. It was a subscription service that provide the boomer generation a variety of edutainment vehicles, nicely assembled into a hardbound book with vinyl covers and dust jackets. Fiction, non-fiction. Poetry by famous writers. Illustrations by a number of famous artists. Andy Warhol's first commission was for this series. One of the regular features was a photographic journey to another country with a sheet of color "stamps" for the child to place in a frame to illustrate the story. And these books are an expansion of the concept into just about every corner and facet of what was then modern life. We will be happy to combine shipping but the best price will be from using one of the volume discounts which are offered.
