ALI credited STEPIN FETCHIT with teaching him the "ANCHOR PUNCH", that he used to KO LISTON.The slow-motion replays and still photos showed that LISTON was indeed jarred by the chopping right from ALI. Many claimed that LISTON took a dive as it was unclear whether the blow was a genuine knockout punch, and still many other observers claimed that it was a PHANTOM PUNCH that KOed Sonny LISTON. ALI defended the punch he called the "ANCHOR PUNCH" and claimed it was taught to him by STEPIN FETCHIT.THAT CONTROVERSY REMAINS TO THIS DAY!
