Although the car was reasonably competitive it was able to beat the Brabham BT23 or Lotus 48 but McLaren won 2 races in in 1967. Bruce McLaren's full focus went to F1 in 1968. The team has won 8 Constructor Championships. Bruce's untimely death came in 1970 while testing an M8 Can-Am car and part of the body came off and he lost control. Nice dis[pay stand included.
