The first set of photos are of the box with the BBCE seal. The second set of photos (the last three box pics) are of the box in its raw state, before submission to BBCE. VARIETY: Box 1: This is the version of the box that shows:Carl Yastrzemski card game promo (hard to find) on front vertical panel, instead of standard panel;"22-KARAT GOLD" promo on back vertical panel; "GOLDEN LAUREL GLASSWARE SET" advertisement on bottom panel; andBox code "1-403-37-01-8" on back vertical panelBox 2: This is the version of the box that shows:Standard matching design on front vertical panel (instead of Yaz promo);"BAZOOKA GIFT" promo on back vertical panel; "GIFT" advertisement on bottom panel; andBox code "1-401-37-01-8" on back vertical panelAUTHENTICITY: Steve Hart of Baseball Card Exchange (BBCE), based in Schererville, Indiana, is the recognized industry leader in the authentication of wax packs and wax boxes. All BBCE-treated boxes feature a foam block inserted inside to maintain the square shape, a full wrap in an ultra-clear acid-free plastic, and a seal on bottom asserting its authenticity and identity, with holographic security features. CONDITION: Box 1: FINE on a simple four-grade scale of Poor-Good-Very Good-Fine. Truly case fresh with, remarkably, INTACT PERFORATION on the top foldout panel. No dents, chips, holes, or writing. Bold colors and bright whites with consistent image clarity. Sturdy and square even in raw state. Smooth panel surfaces with no scuffing or scratching (even on bottom panel); no unnatural creases. Extremely minor normal white/chipping on some edges and corners. Tough to find this box in high-grade condition. Box 2: GOOD+ on a simple four-grade scale of Poor-Good-Very Good-Fine. This would be VERY GOOD except for a few small holes on the bottom panel. No dents or writing. Bold colors and bright whites with consistent image clarity. Sturdy and square even in raw state. Smooth panel surfaces very minor scuffing; no unnatural creases except near perforation on top panel. Minor normal white/chipping on some edges and corners. PROVENANCE: I recently began assisting a local retired professional with his vast childhood collection of sports and non-sports cards, sports memorabilia, books, and toys (partially shown in last pic). He kept nearly everything he acquired as a kid, including packaging ephemera. Back in the '60s and '70s he personally purchased around 50 sport and non-sport trading card boxes, including this one, and still has many of the pack wrappers and cards they came with. He stored the wax boxes in an outer box for 50+ years in smoke-free, climate-controlled homes. Before now he had never attempted to sell any of his boxes or cards; they've never been handled at card shops, shows, or garage sales. A time-capsule fresh vintage wax box with one original owner all these years. SHIPPING: Higher price due to full insurance. Shipped securely in bubble wrap in spacious outer box via USPS Priority (2-3 business days). ** See other highlights from this collection (if not in store, then sold):CARD: 1967 Topps Mickey Mantle PSA 8.5CARD: 1967 Topps Tom Seaver RC PSA 8CARD: 1967 Topps Rod Carew RC PSA 6CARD: 1968 Topps Nolan Ryan RC PSA 7POSTER: 1969 Topps Team Posters (various teams)WRAPPER: 1966-1975 Topps Wax Pack Wrappers (listed by year)BOX: 1967 Leaf Star Trek Empty Display Wax BoxBOX: 1966 Topps Empty Display Wax Box (with variations)BOX: 1968 Topps Empty Display Wax Box (with variations) BOX: 1969 Topps Empty Display Wax Box (with variations)BOX: 1971 Topps Empty Display Wax BoxBOX: 1975 Topps Empty Display Wax Box W2 & W4
