While the 1968 Topps Team cards were a test issue, the final retail product featured red/orange printing on the back of each card. This unique sheet is printed on the reverse side exclusively in black and no other black back singles cards have ever been discovered to date. There are 33 total cards on this sheet including 25 different teams—16 NFL teams and 9 AFL teams. The teams pictured and rosters are from the 1967 seasons for both leagues. The 1967 Green Bay Packers defeated the 1967 Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl II which was played on January 14, 1968. The Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, and Pittsburgh Steelers are each represented twice. Compared to the 8 teams which are doubled up, the Baltimore Colts, Boston Patriots, Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, Houston Oilers, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Giants, Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, St, Louis Cardinals, San Diego Chargers, San Francisco 49ers, and Washington Redskins are only featured only once and could be considered Short Prints. While this full uncut sheet grades Very Good (some creasing throughout and some edge damage), the following team cards, if excised, would grade Near Mint or better: Los Angeles Rams, St. Louis Cardinals, Denver Broncos, New York Giants, Houston Oilers, and New York Jets. Players who appear on teams prior to their HOF Rookie Cards being issued are Rayfield Wright, Tom Mack, Lem Barney, Alan Page, Ken Houston, Gene Upshaw, Willie Lanier, Jan Stenerud, and Larry Little. There are more than 100 players in this series who do not appear on any other mainstream Topps, Fleer, or Philadelphia gum cards.
