Description: 1969 Mick Valenti's "The Quarry" Woodstock Stage Used Drum Up for auction is the Tom-Tom drum Mick Valenti of "The Quarry" used during the 1969 Woodstock Music Festival. The Quarry was hired as the house band for Woodstock and performed more than any other band at the festival. As Mick Valenti's brother, Dan, wrote on his website: "The Quarry arrived in Bethel while the crews built the main stage, did long sets during the festival itself, played on after the last note from Jimi Hendrix’s white Stratocaster echoed off Max Yasgur’s red cow barn, and even entertained the clean up and tear down crews. The Quarry played mostly original music, too, most of the songs written by Mick. Dave and Danny also shared writing duties." This drum was featured on the album cover of "Woodstock Two" and is shown in multiple photos taken during Woodstock. Two pictures above show the drum being used at Woodstock (one photo is the drum being sound checked and the other is The Quarry performing). After Woodstock this drum was used extensively by Valenti as he toured the Country with his bands. This drum shows fantastic usage. The bottom of the drum is open to allow microphone placement. I will also include three signed photos of Valenti playing this drum at various shows after Woodstock. This item has been in my personal collection for several years. Woodstock memorabilia is always extremely difficult to find. Finding items that were actually used on stage during the festival are IMPOSSIBLE to find. This truly is a one of a kind piece.
