1970s Wilesco D8 Live Steam Engine - Perfect First Engine

This is the best toy for boys, men and tomboys !The D8 is an excellent choice as a first live steam engine.It is a simple engine that is easy to operate and maintain while demonstrating how a steam engine works.This is a nice small size engine capable of operating an accessory. This Live Steam Engine is in good condition.It has been air tested (video) and should not give much trouble to operate on steam.It is complete with the exception of the original box that is missing.It is all original Wilesco components (the smoke stack is new). It is mechanically strong and some of the cosmetic aspects have been restored. For instance, the base has been repainted.The chrome is in poor condition and you might choose to brush it off to the solid brass base.There are several small dents on top of the boiler. They do not affect the operation but they would be difficult to remove. I have taken many pictures of it, but it is difficult to capture them. These are very small. It is, in my opinion, still quite gift-able as a first engine, but perhaps not to a perfectionist. You will need some solid fuel pellets (anywhere camping supplies are sold) and using solely distilled water is strongly recommended.
