This is the best toy for boys, men and tomboys !The D8 is an excellent choice as a first live steam engine.It is a simple engine that is easy to operate and maintain while demonstrating how a steam engine works. This is a nice small size engine capable of operating an accessory. This Live Steam Engine is in very good condition.It has been air tested (video) and should not give much trouble to operate on steam.It is complete, except for the original box that is missing.All the components are original Wilesco. It is mechanically strong.Most of the engine has been cleaned and partially cosmetically restored. For instance, the base has been repainted. This is not the original color, but I do like this hammered one. Don't you ?The only thing that you might want to touch up is the little red tray under the cylinder. It's a bit faded. Nice looking little engine ; it is very gift-able. You will need some solid fuel pellets (anywhere camping supplies are sold) and using solely distilled water is strongly recommended.
